AI-powered personal lines insurtech Lemonade put paid to at least one measure of innovation, saying a two and a half year run with co-CEO’s at the helm would be ditched in favour of a more old-school C-suite structure.
Current co-CEOs Shai Wininger and Daniel Schreiber “prefer to return to their previously held positions” of President and CEO “because they believe that the clarity this structure provides outweighs the benefits of the Co-Chief Executive Officer structure.”
Lemonade will make no changes to compensation structure or levels for either executive as a result of the boardroom rejigging, the company noted. Both officers will continue to serve on the board of directors.
Lemonade made the move to the dual-CEO structure in July 2021 when the group brought in a new chief operating officer, a title then relinquished by Wininger. Co-founder Wininger had served variously as president, secretary, treasurer, chief operating officer, chief technology officer and board member since the Company’s founding in June 2015.
